Following a poll with 2,689 respondents in Hong Kong SAR, we announce the luxury and retail sector is the most attractive sector to work for. Richemont — a luxury company regionally headquartered in Hong Kong with brands like IWC, Jaeger Le-Coultre and Montblanc under their brand — is ranked the most attractive company to work for in Hong Kong in 2024, a significant improvement from its 6th position in 2023.

The release of these results come as ‘attractive salary and benefits’ replaced ‘good work-life balance’ as the most important employee value proposition factor that Hongkongers look for in ideal employers. Of the respondents looking for new job opportunities, 28% said that they are quitting because of low pay and rising living costs. 

The survey also found that Hongkongers are increasingly looking for companies that offer equal opportunities regardless of age, gender and ethnicity.

With 43% of the respondents identifying themselves as a minority, the search for equitable employers is becoming increasingly important for job seekers. Furthermore, respondents who identify as minorities are 16% more likely to believe that they face career growth obstacles because of who they are.
