Our client, a leader in its global sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team based in Hong Kong. This is a critical role that will partner closely with the CEO, serving as a strategic leader overseeing all financial functions for the group, with a significant focus on the Asia market. The ideal candidate must from Big 4 assurance team/ professional firms with leadership experience as Senior manager or above, ideally Director grade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the overall financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and growth plans within the Asia market and globally.
- Oversee the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial accounting and reporting, adhering to relevant International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP. Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage the company's treasury functions, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and foreign exchange. Identify and mitigate financial risks across the organization, particularly within the Asian markets.
- Serve as a trusted business partner to the CEO and other senior leaders, providing financial expertise and insights to support business initiatives and drive performance.
- Participate in and lead the financial aspects of potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions within the Asia region and globally.
- Support the CEO in communicating the company's financial performance and strategy to investors and stakeholders.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team in Hong Kong, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws in Hong Kong and other Asian markets. Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, prior experience working at Big 4, ideally at a Director grade or equivalent level or other professional services firms are considered as well.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the Asia market is essential, including a deep understanding of the economic, regulatory, and business environment in the region.
- Proven experience working closely with a CEO and serving as a strategic business partner.
- Significant experience within a global content-driven organization is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing financial operations for a global organization.
- Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is highly advantageous due to the location and focus on the Asia market.
