About the Job
- Reinsurance Placement & Negotiation
- Negotiate reinsurance terms with global and regional reinsurers.
- Structure and execute treaty and facultative reinsurance programs.
- Collaborate with reinsurers to assess market pricing, coverage limits, and capacity availability.
- Business Development & Lead Generation
- Develop and nurture relationships with reinsurers to source potential leads.
- Identify insurance companies in Hong Kong and China seeking reinsurance solutions and connect them with the right partners.
- Act as a strategic intermediary, facilitating introductions and structuring deals between insurers and reinsurers.
- Risk Analysis & Advisory
- Evaluate insurers’ risk portfolios and coverage needs to structure optimal reinsurance solutions.
- Provide technical insights on P&C, Marine, and specialty or Commercial risks.
- Work closely with underwriters, claims professionals, and insurers to ensure seamless placements.
- Managing the Reinsurance Process
- Oversee the end-to-end reinsurance placement process, from negotiation to execution.
- Ensure proper documentation, compliance, and policy issuance.
- Monitor ongoing reinsurance contracts, including claims handling and policy adjustments.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance/reinsurance (broking, underwriting, or claims).
- Knowledge of Risk Transfer, ideally in Commercial Lines, or knowledge of underwriting or claims.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both brokers and underwriters.
- Understanding of reinsurance structures (treaty, facultative, proportional, non-proportional) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and business development abilities.
