My client is one of the largest Financial Institutions in China, they are setting up a life insurance arm in Hong Kong, looking for a Head of Distribution for Agency channel, this person has to be their Key Person in Charge (KPIC) for the channel.

About the Job

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with local regulators
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely communication and compliance

Channel Development:

Oversee the establishment and management of distribution channels, including agency, brokerage, and bancassurance
Develop strategies to optimize channel performance and expand market reach

Strategic Planning:

Formulate and implement strategic plans to enhance distribution effectiveness and achieve business objectives
Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation

Operational Management:

Lead the distribution team, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with company goals
Monitor and evaluate the performance of distribution channels, implementing improvements as needed

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, clients, and internal teams
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all distribution channels

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks within the distribution network and develop mitigation strategies
Ensure all distribution activities adhere to company policies and risk management frameworks

Reporting:

Provide regular reports to senior management on distribution performance and strategic initiatives
Ensure transparency and accountability in all distribution activities

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Insurance, Business Management, or a related field
Over 5 years of experience in agency channel management in the Insurance sector
Over 2 years of experience as a Department Head
Insurance Regulatory knowledge is a must
Proven leadership and strategic planning skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and preferably English
