1. Strategic Procurement & Category Management:

- Ensuring strategic procurement and category management effectively support new and existing programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Managing assigned procurement demands across all functions.
- Conducting demand planning reviews, categorizing spending, and ensuring appropriate category knowledge and data are maintained, incorporated into strategies, and shared.
- Providing regular updates to internal stakeholders on category and procurement strategies to reflect changes in organizational needs, industry dynamics, and the business environment.
- Proactively engaging with internal stakeholders to maximize value from strategic procurement and category management activities.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering year-on-year benefits.
- Regularly checking regional/global sourcing possibilities and benchmarking as appropriate.
- Managing the category with a focus on life cycle costs and total cost of ownership.
- Ensuring strategies align with governance levels and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the development of policies that promote ethical and efficient procurement practices.
- Providing ongoing input to optimize procurement processes, structures, and systems.
- Identifying and addressing areas for improvement within the strategic procurement and category management process.
2. Supplier Relationship & Supply Chain Management:
- Developing sourcing strategies and identifying new market trends to expand and consolidate the supply base to support future needs.
- Managing the supplier portfolio to ensure the required capabilities are in place and an appropriate balance between collaboration and competition is achieved.
- Developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships with key suppliers and consultants.
- Introducing key performance measures and assessment tools to drive continuous improvement within selected supply categories.
- Ensuring category continuous improvement encompasses compliance, cost, delivery, quality, uptime/system availability, safety, maintainability, and sustainability.
- Conducting regular reviews of the supply marketplace. Implementing a formal feedback loop to facilitate ongoing supplier and consultant development.
- Developing market intelligence on existing and potential suppliers.
- Sourcing and prequalifying suppliers in collaboration with relevant internal teams.
- Maintaining a database of qualified suppliers.
- Ensuring sourced suppliers are committed to meeting business objectives and project scopes.
- Evaluating and managing supply risks, and establishing robust contingency plans to ensure supply continuity.
3. Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration:
- Collaborating across various functions, divisions, departments, and levels to ensure comprehensive input into strategy development.
- Ensuring strategic procurement and category management operations are transparent and auditable.
skills & experiences required.
- Degree holder with a professional qualification in Procurement from a recognized institute (e.g., CIPS or equivalent).
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in procurement, preferably from the hospitality field.
- Strong technical expertise in procurement and/or construction. In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement.
- Solid project management experience.
